We would like to let you know about this year’s Author of Tomorrow award, which is part of the Wilbur Smith Adventure Writing Prize. It’s free to enter and is open to writers anywhere in the world under the age of 21.

Entries to the competition can be completed at home and are a great way to engage young people with writing and literacy. They also have free writing resources on our website.

They offer prizes in 3 age categories:
• 11 and Under | 500 words | Prize: £100 plus £150 book tokens for your school
• 12-15 years | 1,500 – 5,000 words | Prize: £100 plus £150 book tokens for your school
• 16-21 years | 1,500 – 5,000 words | Prize: £1,000
In addition, 10 shortlisted authors will be published by their partner, Worldreader.

They are open for entries until 5 May.

If you’d like to enter, then they have some wonderful resources on their website for young writers at KS2 (age 7-11) and KS3 (age 11-14) level.
