Chris Mepham visited Year 3 as part of an initiative with the National Farmer’s Union and Engineering Educates, to get farmers and engineers into schools. We were thrilled to welcome Chris to our class. He drove all the way from Kent to see us, a round trip of 6 hours!! He showed us a fleece that had been shorn from a sheep last year, as well as wheat from his neighbour’s farm. We pulled off a bit of the fleece and pulled and twisted it to see how wool is made. Lambing on Chris’s farm starts this week, so we are hoping to see some photographs of new lambs when they are born.
