West Hill is an exceptional school with high standards where children make excellent progress and achieve high academic results. Pupils are encouraged to be independent and resilient thinkers who love to learn. We seek to inspire our pupils to aim high and develop strong personal values.

Pupils learn in a creative environment through a broad curriculum which offers constant opportunities to reach their full potential. Our vision is for all West Hill children to be: –

Ready to Learn, Inspired to achieve, and be Prepared for life

At West Hill we believe that we are all learners and all teachers are encouraged to remain on the cutting edge of developments in Educational Pedagogy. Through collaboration with colleagues, the school’s professional development programmes (INSET) and external training opportunities our staff are always seeking to improve their practice in order to provide an outstanding educational experience. We support Early Career Teachers in the following ways:

  • Designated SLT mentor with whom you will have weekly mentoring sessions
  • Regular written reports with SMART targets
  • Paired teacher support – a member of the teaching staff who is not on the SLT will be your teacher ‘buddy’
  • The weekly mentoring sessions will be a reflective conversation on developing best practice

West Hill is an innovative and exciting place to work where our whole team is committed to providing a centre of excellence in the heart of our London community.
