19th March 2020
Dear Parents/Carers
As you will know from the news last night the government announced that all schools will close after school on Friday. West Hill will therefore close at 3.15pm on Friday 20th March.
We will be keeping in contact with parents by email so please check your email regularly for updates. We are all experiencing a very challenging time but we will work hard to maintain the West Hill community remotely and will do our best to support everyone at this difficult time. Your understanding and kindness is greatly appreciated. The staff have also worked extremely hard to keep the school open over the past few days with increasing staff absence and to provide your children with resources to use at home over the school closure period.
The teachers have uploaded work on to Education City today for pupils and we will continue to upload activities as and when we can. They have also put together a pack of activities so each child will be going home with work to do. Please visit our website https://westhill.wandsworth.sch.uk/pupil-resources/ for lots of links to resources and activities to support home learning.
Please continue to follow government advice to keep safe and well.
• wash hands frequently and for 20 seconds each time with soap and warm water.
• encouraging your child to cover their mouth when they cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in a bin.
• avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands
• avoiding close contact with people who are unwell
• cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces
Thank you for your continued support. If you are concerned in any way about you or your child’s health please telephone NHS 111.
Your sincerely,
Lisa Carmen and Anna Healy,
Co-Headteachers
