At West Hill we recognise the value of home – school learning. For our pupils to reach their full potential, it is essential that the valuable learning taking place in school is continued and strengthened at home.
To achieve this class teachers provide weekly homework that compliments the learning taking place in class. Homework clubs, run by class teachers, are offered to all children in key stage 2.
The homework set is graduated throughout the school to be appropriately challenging. Below you will find how homework is set of each key stage and year group.
At West Hill we know how important it is for every child to support and extend their learning at home. We subscribe to educational websites that help our pupils practice the key skills they learn in school.
We held a parents meeting on how to support your children’s learning at home. If you were unable to attend please see below for a copy of the presentation given. (link to powerpoint presentation)
For children coming to school for the very first time, whether it be to Nursery or Reception, we have put together a simple guidance page to help prepare your child. Please click on the link below.
Everyday things to do with your child
For help with practising times tables the BBC Bitesize website has interactive games your child can play.
Education City is also an excellent resource for learning which all Key Stage 2 pupils have access to.
