Our aim is to help your child make a successful transition from primary to secondary school.
A meeting is organised in the summer term of Year 5 (July) in preparation for the start of the application process in the Autumn term (September) in Year 6.
In the Autumn term a follow up meeting is held to share with parents, the Borough wide application process, the application booklet and to arrange 1:1 meetings with the head teacher to discuss individual secondary school choices.
In Year 6 pupils follow a transition programme delivered by the learning mentor and Year 6 teacher to enable children and families to be prepared to manage the transition to secondary school successfully.
