The children of key workers have continued to be inspired by Julia Donaldon’s The Snail and the Whale this week. They have created edible snails using apple, celery and hummus as well as pastry chocolate snails. Delicious! They have also been making snails and whales out of clay which they are waiting to dry so they can paint them. Then they were set the design challenge of building a raft to carry ten snails on their journey around the world. This was all done using junk modelling materials and then tested using rocks in place of the snails.
