Welcome
West Hill is a welcoming, inclusive community school with children who thrive, a committed staff and a dedicated Governing Body.
We offer school places from Nursery (aged 3) through to Year 6 (age 11).
We have one class per year group. Each class has a maximum of 30 children.
The Nursery and Reception class have a full-time teacher along with teaching assistants.
Years 1 – 6 have full-time teachers and a teaching assistant every morning. Some classes also have learning support assistants who support children with a statement of special educational needs.
Headteacher's Welcome
Welcome and thank you for taking the time to visit our school website. We hope that our website gives you a clear insight into school life at West Hill Primary School.
We are a community school which has one distinctive aim: to serve our amazing, diverse community. We pride ourselves on developing curious learners, who engage readily with their learning, consistently demonstrate our values and want to do their very best with every opportunity. Excellent practices and systems in our school, support all children to be successful and confident.
As a school we never compromise on the high expectations that we have of all of the children who attend West Hill Primary School, and we create experiences that allow children to become confident, global citizens ready for their next steps in education.
Partnership with parents and carers is central to our work. As key educators in your children’s lives, we feel it is exceptionally important that you have a voice and that our team are approachable and allow you to share your ideas and thoughts. Through regular communication, parental engagement, workshops, coffee mornings and celebration events, we develop strong and open relationships with you all. Together, everyone achieves more.
Above all, we believe that if our children are excited by their learning and happy at school, they are more likely to achieve success.
Once again, a very warm welcome to West Hill Primary School, a school and community we are so proud of.
Mr Richard Milsom
